Rest Day in Egmond aan Zee

It is full on sun today, 23 degrees and a Saturday. So this meant lots of people on the beach as the day progressed. Mostly families with young children. Some people rented those enclosed beach chairs and were reading or napping in them. There was even the odd person  going for a swim. A fairly stiff wind was blowing which nicely kicked up some surf. We looked around the town and then found a lovely spot to have a coffee, right against a wall in the sunshine.
There is a huge staircase across from our hotel and it is multi- purpose. There are special steps to sit on to enjoy the view; there are metal slats for bikes or wheeled buggies to go up and down; and then an aweful lot of steps just to get up or down the high dune that protects the town from the sea.
We found a seafood restaurant in town and are hoping for some "zee tong" for dinner.
We enjoy our days off but do feel we lose a bit of momentum. But after yesterday we needed the day off again.
