Arrived on Dutch Soil!

The flight from YVR to Heathrow in the big double decker was uneventful. The massive plane rose into the air like a semi with wings. We had a rather long wait in London to get the short hop to Amsterdam where we had a wait of at least an hour and a half for our backpacks. Our poles were in there. But what fun to observe the triple kissing, so unlike our airy hugs. Someone was even vacuuming the sidewalk just outside the terminal. Definitely Holland. It is warm weather here and locals are dressed in shorts, tank tops, sandals and sun dresses. We could be excused for thinking that we had just arrived in some tropical destination. Now we desperately need some sleep. We are at the airport hotel. Tomorrow we have to rearrange our packing, figure out how to get to Hoek van Holland by train and then make our way on foot to Ter Heide. All good exercises for the mind and the body!

  1. Do you know about an app called 9292 your travel partner? It gives you detailed instructions of the trains and bus schedules and platforms. I'd take a screen shot and then be good to go. So excited for you.
